For the love of flowers
My mom showed me this picture from 1990. Here I am with my late grandmother, my mother's mother. Interest in gardening, especially in beautiful flowers, goes way back.
Here, however, we seem to be watering zucchinis and cucumbers with a watering can and a copper pot.
I moved my workspace home in February because I'm still staying home with our toddler for this spring. The commuting time versus the working hours didn't add up, and besides, an upcoming plumbing renovation meant a move was inevitable later anyway.
I'll surely miss the large windows, brightness, and atmosphere of the workspace in Alppila. Right now, however, I'm looking forward to the apple trees starting to bloom – that's a luxury of my new home office window view!
Having a little garden was a long-standing dream that came true a couple of years ago when we moved from Helsinki to Espoo. How wonderful it is to just step outside and find a blooming source of inspiration from your very own backyard.
