Huvitus apple tree

In our small backyard, there are two apple trees. When I moved my workspace from Alppila to home in February, I immediately began looking forward to the blooming season because the apple trees are right outside the window of my office.

The white flowers were indeed challenging to draw! Upon closer inspection, they weren't white at all, but had hints of light yellow and pink, and in the shaded areas, grey.

The name of this variety of apple tree is Huvitus (in Finnish, the word “huvi” means something fun or joyful).

According to Niittytila's website, it is an early summer apple that originated from the Huvitus Manor in Yläne in 1985.

Oh la la, now looking at the backyard with new eyes, one can see the obvious manor estate atmosphere!
